Week 6 kicks
off with the Eastern Division leading Jody's
Colossal Waste of Time visiting the Sims Stereco.
Jody comes into this one with a 4-1 record,
their best start to a season since 2002. Having
already beaten the other three teams in the division,
a victory over Sims would give them a first half
sweep in the East and keep their lead at no worse
than a game-and-a-half heading into Neutral Site
Week. The Stereco, meanwhile, are trying to stop
a three-game skid that has dampened the excitement
of a 2-0 start. Drew Brees makes his return the
lineup following his bye, but the Stereco need
him to find the endzone again: after throwing
nine TDs in the first two games, he failed
to throw one in his next two.

division victory as they take on the second-place
Naughty Figs. The Pimps defeated the Stereco
in Week 4 for their first win of the year, but
were crushed by the Raze in interdivisional play
last week. The Figs, meanwhile, have reversed
course on an 0-2-1 start by winning their past
two and now have a shot at breaking over the
.500 marker. The Pimps recent struggles are well-documented,
but they've had a particularly difficult time
with the Figs of late, having lost five of their
past six meetings. On the plus side, their Bears
defense – which led them to their win over Sims
– will be back on the field following its bye.

| The Anderson
Brewmeisters have made it to Championship Week
in each of the past three seasons, but that streak
seems to be in jeopardy this year. With only
a single win over the first five weeks, the Brew
Krew is struggling to find its footing in '09.
Things won't be easier for them this week, however,
as Pirk's high-flying Wicked Oil Profiteer$ invade
Saint Arnold Stadium. P.W.O.P. is one of two
teams (along w/ the Hellions) outscoring
its opponent by an average of 20 points over
the first five weeks, and that actually includes
a loss. Pirk is coming off a 45-point beatdown
of the Machines, and needs to keep pace with
the undefeated Hellions in the Eastern race.
The Brew has certainly had a rough first half
schedule (having to face both Irwin and Pirk
on its interdivisional slate), but can they keep
from falling into an insurmountable hole? Making
matters worse, Peyton Manning, their leader and
lone hero, will have to watch this one from the
sidelines.

| The Western
Division leading Irwin Hellions look to make
a first half divisional sweep of their own as
they host the last place Abstract Machines. Both
clubs ended 2008 with road losses during Wild
Card Week, yet they've gone in different directions
since. Like Pirk, Irwin has been dominating their
weekly foes in route to a perfect 5-0 record.
Donovan McNabb made a very triumphant return
to the Hellion lineup last week, torching Thomas
for 16 points. The Machines, by contrast, have
failed to see the gaudy QB numbers usually produced
by Tom Brady. Brady's actually been benched the
past two games in favor of 40-year old Brett
Favre, but the Ol' Man can't do it alone, and
the youth of the Machines' roster is showing
its inexperience. Can the team that has the current
longest playoff streak rally to keep it going,
or will the Hellhole prove to me too much for
visitors yet again?

| Thomas' Bock
Boys host the Piana Raze in a Western Division
battle of 2-3 teams worthy of being the Game
of the Week. A
win here means you're 3-3 and looking okay heading
into Neutral Site Week, while a loss puts you
out 2-4 and very likely out of the divisional
race. Both clubs have a win over the Machines
and losses to P.W.O.P. and Irwin, so the survivor
will also get to claim third place all to themselves.
The Raze head into Bockville riding the momentum
of a 51-27 win over The Pimps. Michael Turner,
Matt Schaub, and Nate Burleson all posted double-digits
in the win. The Boys, meanwhile, have dropped
two straight and are now last in the league in
points scored. That said, the Bock Boys were
2-3 a year ago before rallying to win the West
and the Super Bowl. Unfortunately for them, they'll
have to manage a rally this week with four players
out on bye.
