Eight years.
Eight years after winning their last Super Bowl,
the Anderson Brewmeisters finally did it again.
Eight years after trading away the quarterback
who got them their last Super Bowl win and giving
the reigns to Peyton Manning, Manning finally
erased the stigma of being "the greatest
quarterback never to have won a Super Bowl," by
leading his Brewmeister teammates in a thorough
whipping of longtime rivals Jody's Colossal Waste
of Time, 35 - 7 in Super Bowl XI.

over Jody. |
Once again following the familiar script, the
Brewmeisters fell behind early, when C.W.O.T.
quarterback Carson Palmer found running back
Steven Jackson on a 12 yard touchdown pass midway
through the first quarter. But, just as the C.W.O.T.
offense looked to be moving into the fast lane,
they got blindsided by the Brewmeister bus, with
Peyton Manning at the wheel. (Editor’s note: The
Brewmeister bus is intended to refer to actual
events).
Finding a way to get the anemic receiving game
involved in the offense, Peyton hit wideout Steve
Smith with an 11-yard scoring strike. Smith,
playing his best game in ten weeks, would finish
with 137 yards recieving on nine receptions,
and 10 points for the Brewmeisters. The C.W.O.T.
got the ball back, but Palmer threw the first
of his two interceptions, and the Brewsky offense
went right back to work. Alternating between
passes to Smith, and hand-offs to running back
Brian Westbrook, Manning moved the Brew down
the field, and hit paydirt again with a 7-yard
toss to Kevin Curtis. Curtis, who finished with
7 points, hauled in six passes for 78 yards to
go with his TD. A third Manning touchdown pass
in a 311-yard day put him at 15 points to lead
all players, and put the Brewmeisters lead at
21-7.

Steve
Smith had his best game in months, helping
the Brewmeisters win their first League
title since 1999. |
Meanwhile, the Brewmeisters' San Diego
defense was putting the clamps on the Buffalo
Bills – er, C.W.O.T. offense, to the tune
of 20 takeaway points. Their first quarter score
would also be their last, as Palmer threw another
interception in a 1-point total, and #2 RB Earnest
Graham was held to 21 yards rushing and 2 points.
Jackson’s 8 points would be high score
for the time-wasters, with receiver Santonio
Holmes’ 7 being the only other C.W.O.T.
score over 4. Jody’s Buccaneer defense
did a credible job in stripping 14 from the Brew
Krew offense, but absent any significant offensive
firepower, it came to naught.
It is more a testament to the vagaries of this
game than to anyone’s coaching ability
that a team which reaches the Super Bowl almost
every other year can be winless in the big game.
In a show of good sportsmanship, it is rumored
that the Brewmeisters’ junior owner is
hosting the C.W.O.T. owner for dinner and a stein
of St. Arnolds.
Congratulations Anderson Brewmeisters – 2007
FLF Champions!
