Week 11 Previews

The Pimps at Jody's C.W.O.T.
(4 - 5 - 1)   (6 - 4)
series history: Pimps lead 13-9
last meeting: Week 6
JODY 47, at Pimps 42

Week 11 kicks off with an Eastern Division battle between The Pimps and Jody's Colossal Waste of Time. The Pimps are trying to get some traction and reach the 6-win minimum to qualify for the playoffs. They've only won one of their past six games, and were knocked aside by Anderson last week 32-10. The division-leading C.W.O.T. are also coming off a loss, being crushed by P.W.O.P. 47-9. That loss – and Anderson's win – closed Jody's lead on the East to just one game with three to play. These two put up 89 combined points in their first meeting, but another shootout is unlikely. The Pimps will be without both their stud running backs – Shaun Alexander and Adrian Peterson – who will be sitting this one out with injuries.

Thomas' Bock Boys at Sims Stereco
(8 - 2)   (3 - 6 - 1)
series history: tied 3-3-1
last meeting: Week 7, 2006
Thomas 18, vs SIMS 20

The team with the league's worst record hosts the team with the best as Thomas' Bock Boys visit the Sims Stereco. Both clubs are coming off Week 10 losses, as Thomas was upended by the Machines and the Stereco were eliminated from playoff consideration by the Raze. The Boys are still comfortable in control in the Western Division race, and they'll have Jeff Garcia, Randy Moss and the Patriots defense back in the fold for this interdivisional matchup. Although this looks like a mismatch in the standings, Thomas hasn't beaten the Stereco since 2002 (going 0-3-1 in the four years since). Sims may not be returning to the playoffs, but the Stereco have been playing inspired football over the last few weeks and would like nothing better than to trip up the trash-talking boys once again.

Abstract Machines

at Naughty Figs
(6 - 4)   (4 - 6)
series history: Figs lead 5-2
last meeting: Week 11, 2006
Machines 20, at FIGS 42

The Abstract Machines look to keep their momentum going as they visit the Naughty Figs for the second of three interdivisional games on the Week 11 fight card. The Machines are coming off a huge road win, knocking off the West-leading Bock Boys to maintain their current No. 3 seed playoff positioning. The Figs were tripped up yet again by the Hellions last week to fall to 4-6, and they will need to win two of their final three to become playoff eligible. Tom Brady will return to the huddle for the Machines, but the Figs are likely to be unnerved; they've won the last three meetings with the Machines, including a 42-20 decision exactly one year ago, in Week 11 of 2006.

Irwin Hellions at P.W.O.P.
(4 - 6)   (4 - 6)
series history: Irwin leads 13-9
last meeting: Week 3
P.W.O.P. 13, at IRWIN 42

The Irwin Hellions travel to Oil Town to meet up with Pirk's Wicked Oil Profiteer$ in a crucial battle of 4-6 teams. Both clubs helped their playoff causes immensely with Week 10 victories of Eastern teams, but both are still 2 wins away from eligibility. The Hellions finally showed some offensive life last week, with Donovan McNabb leading the way with 17 points. P.W.O.P. has little problem putting up points with Tony Romo manning the offense, but the defense has been suspect. Last week, however, their Seahawk unit stripped 18 away from Jody, and a similar effort this week could earn Pirk a season series split with the Hellions.

Game of the Week
Anderson Brewmeisters at Piana Raze
(5 - 5)   (6 - 4)
series history: Piana leads 7-4-2
last meeting: Super Bowl X, 2006
Anderson 34, vs PIANA 45

The Anderson Brewmeisters visit the Piana Raze in a rematch of last season's Super Bowl. Division Champions a year ago, both the Brewmeisters and Raze find themselves in second place in their respective chases at this point in '07 season. PIana has already lost as many regular season games this season as they did all of last, and Anderson has actually lost three more than the two they did in '06.

Indeed, this season has not been particularly kind to the Brewskies. Their once-feared receiving corps has fallen on hard times, with only Steve Smith ranking in the top 10 at the position (and – even worse – he has only 3 points in the past four games). Peyton Manning is still a force, but there are rumblings that he's being outplayed by his understudy, Derrik Anderson.

Piana has suffered a drop in production as well. Super Bowl MVP Marc Bulger was canned, and his replacements (Vince Young, Matt Schaub, and Jason Campbell) aren't faring any better. Larry Johnson has also been a huge disappointment, and he'll be sitting this one out on bye.

Yet despite their relative slide from a year ago, the 2007 Brewmeisters and Raze are still in the top half of the standings and will likely reach the playoffs. Anderson still needs one more win for playoff eligibility, but their motivation for this one won't be coming from the standings; the Brew are still stinging from being upset by the underdog Raze in Super Bowl X.
