The second half
of the season kicks off with a divisional rematch
between Jody's Colossal Waste of Time and the
Naughty Figs. The C.W.O.T. suddenly find themselves
all alone in first place in the East, a half-game
up on the slumping Pimps and a game ahead of
the Brewmeisters and Figs. Jody was the only
Eastern club to emerge from Neutral Site Week
with a win and are now looking to stretch their
winning streak to three games. The Figs have
only won one of their past four games, but they
are also the only club to have handed the C.W.O.T.
a divisional loss this season.
Last week's win over the Hellions may prove
to be costly for Jody, as they've lost Ronnie
Brown for the season. Luckily, Steven Jackson
is set to return to the playing field this week,
and Jody can only hope he rediscovers his explosiveness
from a year ago. The Figs will be without a slew
of starters for this one, which could force Daunte
Culpepper to make his Fig debut at quarterback.
It's only Week 8, but the Figs may need a win
here if to stay in contention for their
first division title.

Sims 32, at Pimps 32 |

| The Pimps and
Sims Stereco pick up from where they left off
three weeks ago, albeit at a new site. The two
clubs fought to a 32-32 tie on the Pimps' home
field in Week 5, forcing the season series to
be decided in a winner-take-all bout at Sims.
Of course, both teams could use the win, regardless.
The Pimps have dropped two straight following
that tie to fall out of first in the division
race, and the Stereco are leading the race to
playoff ineligibility.
The Pimps were routed last week by the Raze
with their full balance of talent at their disposal.
This week, they're available roster will be a
whopping six players short thanks to the bye,
although only two – Shaun Alexander and Jason
Witten – are every-week starters. Despite having
the league's worst record, the Stereco have
been playing competitive football; each of their
past four games (in which they went 1-2-1) were
decided by six points or less. Luck has certainly
not been on their side, but they're running out
of time waiting for that pendulum to swing.

ANDERSON 41, at Irwin 24 |

| The Irwin Hellions
and Anderson Brewmeisters both lost interdivisional
games last week, but fear not – the schedule
offers immediate redemption in the form of Week
8's lone East-vs-West showdown. The Hellions
are sputtering, having lost two straight, while
the Brewmeisters had their short-lived winning
streak snapped by the Profiteer$ last week. Both
are obviously eager to get back to .500, but
the Brewmeisters are only a game back in the
East, whereas the Hellions are three back of
the mighty Bock Boys. With a huge divisional
game against Jody next week, the Brew Krew had
better not be caught looking ahead. With LaDainian
Tomlinson and the San Diego defense back in the
fold, it's hard to think they would.

| Thomas' Bock
Boys return to Bockville to host Pirk's Wicked
Oil Profiteer$ in the first of two Western Division
showdowns. Both Pirkle franchises earned Neutral
Site wins last week, with P.W.O.P. upsetting
Anderson while Thomas throttled the Figs. Both
managed to do what the other had not earlier
this season, as the Figs
dumped Pirk while Anderson trumped Thomas in
a busy Week 5. Yet any warm sentiments for avenging
another's loss are quickly put to bed. Thomas
is trying to go from worst-to-first, and at 6-1
with a 4-0 divisional record, the Bock Boys sit
squarely in the driver's seat. Pirk is trying
to claw its way back into the playoff picture,
but a second-straight upset might be too tall
an order this week; three of Pirk's biggest weapons
from a week ago – Tony Romo, Tony Gonzales, and
Tony Seahawks defense are all having to sit this
one out. The table would seem set for Thomas'
first season sweep of the Profiteer$ since 2003.

| |
| The Piana Raze
visit the Abstract Machines is a battle of second-place
teams from the Western Division. Following two
straight losses, the Raze righted their ship
with a 39-1 thrashing of The Pimps last week,
while the Machines surged ahead, extending their
winning streak to three games following a 41-35
victory over the Stereco.
The Raze dominated
The Pimps in large thanks to their Giants defense,
which ripped the Feathered Ones for 29 points.
Piana will likely need a similar game from that
unit if their to keep up with the Machines, as
two of their best offensive players – Larry Johnson
and Terrell Owens – will be out on bye. Not to
mention the fact that Raze quarterbacks have
scored 2, (minus)-2, and 0 in the past three
weeks.
The Machines' Tom Brady usually tops those numbers
by the second possession of the game. He has
scored 46 points in the past two weeks alone,
and has shown no signs of slowing down. Brady's
incredible play – coupled with that
of the Ravens defense – seems to almost be
enough to get the Machines into the win column.
Fortunately for Piana, that Ravens D will be
sitting this one out. But will even that be enough
to slow down the streaking AMs?
