| The Anderson
Brewmeisters blew out the Sims Stereco, 46-8,
at Saint Arnold Stadium to win the 2006 Eastern
Division title. The Stereco offense sputtered
under the pressure of playing for the division,
with two receivers scoring only a single point
apiece. Drew Brees led the visitors with
8 points, but that number was eclipsed by three
Brewmeister starters: Brian Westbrook and Torry
Holt each had 9, and LaDainian Tomlinson (of
course) led the Anderson offense with 16. No
Brewmeister failed to score less than 5 points,
in fact, and their Chargers defense put the game
on ice with a 21-point showing. The 38-point
margin of victory is a season-best for Anderson,
who sufficiently avenges its 25-point loss to
Sims back in Week 5.
Most importantly, the win gives the Brewmeister
franchise their third division title and
second in three years. Anderson enters the postseason
as the No. 1 seed and will have a week off before
hosting the Eastern Championship Game. Sims,
meanwhile, will still enter the playoffs as the
highest seeded wild card (No. 3 seed – a franchise
best), and will play host to Pirk's Wicked Oil
Profiteer$ next week.

| The Irwin Hellions
were denied in their quest for playoff eligibility,
falling to the Piana Raze 33-26 at En Fuego Field.
The Raze jumped out to an early lead behind 15
combined points from Larry Johnson and Tiki Barber,
but no one player managed to crack double-digits,
allowing Irwin to claw its way back in. Eli Manning
had a stellar game with 11 points, and four other
Hellion starters had 5 points or better. But
receivers Andre Johnson and Deion Branch combined
for just a single point, leaving the visitors
in an 11-point hole heading into Monday night.
Irwin's Eagles defense
scored only four points under the primetime lights,
however, giving the Raze the first victory earned
in the series over the past three games. (The
previous two meetings were both ties.)
The loss ends Irwin's season at a disappointing
5-7-1. The defending Division Champs can pass
the torch to the Raze, who will now get a week
off to prepare for hosting the West Championship
Game.

The Abstract
Machines used home field advantage and yet another
Rex Grossman meltdown secure the sixth win needed
to return to the playoffs, besting Thomas' Bock
Boys 18-17. Already destined for the Draft Bowl,
the Bock Boys' Patriots defense played an inspired
game, besting the Machines' own Ravens
squad 24-5. Marion Barber III chipped in 10 points
on offense, but the other six Bock Boy starters
managed just 12 more, thanks in large part to
Grossman's (minus)-5 point outing – his second
negative score in as many weeks. The Machines
chipped away at Thomas' lead with various 5-
and 6-point efforts, but it was Marvin Harrison
who saved the day for the home team. After scoring
just 4 points in his previous three games, Harrison
ripped the Boys for 12, narrowing the gap
to 4 points heading into Sunday Night. Darrell
Jackson then did just enough – 91 yards and 5
points – to give the Machines the
dramatic and hard-fought victory.
The win sends the defending Super Bowl Champions
back into the playoffs, where they will visit
Jody's Colossal Waste of Time in a Wild Card
rematch of last year's league championship game.
The loss, meanwhile, is Thomas' fifth straight
and drops their record to a league worst 3-10.
They will return home to Bockville to host their
first ever Draft Bowl next week.

| Pirk's Wicked
Oil Profiteer$ finally got some traction to halt
their late season slide, shutting out the visiting
Naughty Figs 11-0. The Fig offensive players
were held out of the endzone all day, with five
of the six starters scoring 2 points or less
(Travis Henry had 5). Undeterred by the complete
failure on offense, the Figs' Steelers D mauled
the Profiteer$ for 24 points and actually built
a lead for their team. Pirk had offensive struggles
of its own, highlighted by Hines Ward with 0
and first-time starter Tony Romo with just 2.
But Mike Furrey and Chris Chambers showed signs
of life at receiver, combining for 15 points
to keep P.W.O.P. in the game. Then, on Sunday
Night, knowing they needed a win to have any
shot at the playoffs, Pirk's Seattle defense
took control of the game with a 24-point effort
of their own, knocking the Figs right off the
scoreboard.
A week after being shut out 11-0 by the Machines,
the Profiteer$ flip fortunes on the unsuspecting
Figs by the same score. While the win gave Pirk
the six needed for playoff eligibility, they
had to wait and hope that Irwin failed to rally
on Monday Night. Only when the final gun fired
at En Fuego Field and the Hellions had indeed
lost, did Pirk secure its first trip to the playoffs
in three seasons. They'll visit the Sims Stereco
for a Wild Card contest next week. The Fig loss,
coupled with The Pimps' victory (see below),
sends the Figgies to Bockville for their first
Draft Bowl appearance since 2003.

| It took 13 weeks,
but The Pimps finally got their first divisional
victory win of the season, routing the playoff-bound
Jody's Colossal Waste of Time at The Vortex,
53-26. Shaun Alexander's return to the lineup
obviously inspired his teammates, as The Pimps
produced their highest overall score of the season.
Jake Delhomme led the offense with 11 points,
followed by Eddie Kennison (9), Shaun Alexander
(8), and kicker Jeff Reed (8). It was the Bears
defense, however, that once again led all scorers
with 29 C.W.O.T.-squashing points. That defensive
score was 30 points better than what Jody's Panther
unit could muster. The C.W.O.T. did have four
offensive starters score 8 points each, but it
wasn't near enough to overcome the defensive
shortfall.
The win keeps The Pimps from becoming the first
team to go 0-8 in divisional play, and it also
bumps them ahead of the Figs and out of the Draft
Bowl. The loss hurts only Jody's pride and not
their postseason standing; the No. 4 seed C.W.O.T.
will be hosting the Machines next week in a Super
Bowl IX rematch.
