The Pimps host
Jody's Colossal Waste of Time in the only Eastern
Divisional matchup of the regular season's penultimate
week. The C.W.O.T. have dropped a staggering six
straight games and seem destined to make their
first ever Draft Bowl appearance. The Pimps, meanwhile,
are coming off a win over the Sims Stereco and
are still very much in contention for the divisional
crown.
The C.W.O.T. have had very little to smile about
this season, with injuries and underachievement
plaguing the defending division champs from Day
1. Tight end Antonio Gates has been one of the
few bright spots, averaging nearly 10 points per
game over his past three starts. The Pimps' Shaun
Alexander and Corey Dillon have each put up almost
identical numbers to Gates over that same span,
and another strong outing this week could easily
extend The Pimps' regular season winning streak
over the Pewter & Black to 13 games.

| The Abstract
Machines look to rebound from last week's 38-22
setback in Bockville as they visit the struggling
Sims Stereco. Despite last week's loss, the Machines
remain a game ahead of three division rivals in
the West. The Strereco, by contrast, are two games
out of the playoff picture with just two to play.
As a result, the 2002 Super Bowl Champs are likely
to miss the postseason for a second straight year.
With a strong foundation of Tom Brady, Curtis
Martin, and the Ravens defense – not to
mention Marvin Harrison – the Machines remain
in a position to make franchise history. Never
before has the club won eight regular season games,
and this week looks as good as any to get it done:
they've won 8 of 11 lifetime games against the
Stereco. As for Sims, only Mike Vick, Terrell
Owens, and David Akers have done much of anything
in 2004, while new additions Marshall Faulk, Onterrio
Smith, and Larry Fitzgerald (among others) have
failed to meet expectations. To their credit,
the Stereco have played Western teams tough this
year, owning a 3-0 record having already beaten
Pirk, Piana, and Irwin.

| Following a disastrous
0-2 home stand, the Naughty Figs head back out
onto the friendly open roads to meet up with the
Irwin Hellions at Purgatory Field. The Figs have
won four straight games away from home, but they've
also lost the four times they've faced the Hellions,
so something will have to give.
With Chad Pennington still out with an injury,
the Figs will have to once again go with Joey
Harrington at quarterback, even though the young
QB has averaged just 2 points per game during
the Figs' two-game slide. On the plus side, the
Figs' Seahawks defense is coming of its best game
of the season (24 points), and they will once
again be relied on to help slow down the potent
Hellion attack. Donovan McNabb (11.7 ppg) is usually
at the front of that attack for Irwin, but both
Domanick Davis and Edgerrin James have posted
a 14-point game in recent weeks. The Hellions
have yet to win three games in a row this season,
but home-field and history seem to certainly be
in their favor for this final interdivisional
tilt.

Boys will look to build on last week's victory
over the Machines as they travel to Oil Town,
USA to spend Thanksgiving weekend with family.
Thomas has actually bested Pirk's Wicked Oil Profiteer$
in five straight meetings, and will need another
win here to keep up with the other playoff hopefuls.
The Profiteer$ are currently slotted for the Draft
Bowl, but a strong finish could spare the franchise
it's fourth career berth in the league's lesser
Bowl game.
Thomas will have to go a third straight week
without the aid of Super Bowl MVP Priest Holmes,
but the Boys will still have capable weapons in
Daunte Culpepper, Reuben Droughns, and the suddenly
explosive Muhsin Muhammad. Pirk will likely be
without an injured Ahman Green, but the Profiteer$
should finally have the always dangerous Randy
Moss back in the huddle. If nothing else, a win
here would at least reward the P.W.O.P. faithful
with a 3-3 home record within an otherwise sour
campaign.

PIANA 43, at Anderson 37 |
| |
| The league's
two hottest teams collide in the Week 12 Game
of the Week as the Anderson Brewmeisters visit
the Piana Raze. The Brewmeisters have surged into
a three-way tie for first place in the Eastern
Division on the strength of a three-game winning
streak, and – thanks to tiebreakers –
they can claim their first division title since
their inaugural year if they win out. The Raze
are riding an impressive four-game winning streak
that included victories over the Machines, Thomas,
and the Figs.
Anderson's Peyton Manning is having a phenomenal
season and has become the most explosive offensive
weapon in the 2004 FLF. His success has taken
pressure off of Ladainian Tomlinson and Torry
Holt to try and win games single-handedly. The
first-overall pick Patriots defense seems to have
recovered from its midseason funk and has played
a key role in Anderson's current winning streak.
Their lone kicker, however, might be cause for
alarm, as Phil Dawson has gotten progressively
worse over that same span and actually cost his
team a point in last week's game.
The Raze owe much of their recent success to
their Pittsburgh defense, which has scored 18
or more points in each of its last three starts.
Kicker Adam Vinatieri has also been solid, averaging
13.8 ppg during the Raze's current win streak.
On offense, Tiki Barber has learned to hang onto
the football and actually leads the league in
scoring at the halfback position. Unfortunately,
Piana will have to go without Jamal Lewis this
week (ankle), which will put more pressure on
the starting quarterback, to be chosen from Marc
Bulger, Jake Plummer, and Trent Green.
With the 2004 playoff race going down to the
wire, both these clubs need to stay hot to avoid
being the odd man out of the postseason bracket.
Anderson has strong aspirations of an Eastern
Division title, while Piana is still in position
to successfully defend their Western crown from
a year ago. History favors the Raze in this one,
where they have actually tied the Brewmeisters
(twice) more than they have lost to them (just
once, in 1998).
