| Thomas' Bock
Boys overpowered the division-leading Abstract
Machines in Bockville, 38-22, to pull within a
game of first place. Having lost two-straight
divisional games on the road, the Bock Boys returned
to the friendly confines of Bockyard Stadium and
earned a split in the season series with the Machines.
Bock Boy receiver Muhsin Muhammad led all scorers
with 13 points, while Daunte Culpepper and Reuben
Droughns each contributed 12 more in pacing Thomas'
offensive attack. The Machines tried to rally
behind Tom Brady's 9 points, but no one else came
close to double-digits. Jerome Bettis managed
a respectable 6 points in his first action of
the season, and the Machines' Ravens defense hammered
Thomas for an impressive 20 points, but it wasn't
enough to avoid the Abstracts' first loss in three
weeks.
The outcome drops the Machines to 7-4 while elevating
the defending Super Bowl champions to 6-5. Both
clubs will finish out the regular season with
games against the Sims Stereco and Pirk's Wicked
Oil Profiteer$.

| The Anderson
Brewmeisters edged past the Naughty Figs, 29-23,
to earn an important season sweep over their Eastern
rivals in the race for the division title. The
red-hot Brewmeisters have now won three straight
and have now gained two games in as many weeks
on the faltering Figs.
As with his previous five starts, Peyton Manning
led the Brewmeisters in offensive scoring, this
time carving up the Figs for a ho-hum 14 points.
The running game was also in full effect, as both
LaDainian Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook scored
11 points. The Figs' offense was almost outscored
by Manning and L.T. alone, as they were led by
Willis McGahee with 6 points and could only muster
26 total. Luckily, their Seahawks defense came
to play, hammering the visiting Brewskies for
24 points. Anderson got the last punch in, however,
as their own Patriots "D" provided the
game-winning points on Monday Night.
The win is the seventh on the season for Anderson,
who last recorded seven regular season wins in
the 2000 campaign. The Figs drop to 7-4 on the
weight of their second consecutive loss and are
now tied with Anderson and The Pimps atop the
East.

The Pimps topped
the Sims Stereco for the second time in four weeks,
this time rallying past their divisional rivals
38-29. The Stereco jumped out to the early lead
behind 13 points from Mike Vick and another 7
from Ashlie Lelie. The offensive fireworks stalled
a bit later, however, as three other starters
failed to score 3 points. The Pimps struggled
most of Sunday as well, with Shaun Alexander (8
points) matching the combined effort of the three
wideouts.
On Sunday night, the visitors got a much-needed
15 points from David Carr and Kris Brown, pulling
them to within a point of Sims. Then, under the
Monday Night lights, Corey Dillon rumbled for
two scores and team-high 10 points in delivering
The Pimps their first win since Week 8, a 63-35
thrashing of these same Stereco. The win moves
The Pimps into a three-way tie with Anderson and
the Figs atop the East, while the loss drops Sims
to 4-7 and on the verge of playoff ineligibility.

| The Piana Raze
stretched their winning streak to four games with
a 32-11 victory over Pirk's Wicked Oil Profiteer$
in Oil Town, USA. The Raze were led once again
by their Steeler defense, who edged Pirk's Lions
squad 18-14 in a game in which both defenses recorded
both a touchdown and a safety. Both clubs also
lost a running back early on, as Jamal Lewis and
Ahman Green were both forced out with injuries.
The Raze took the air in Lewis' absence, as Jake
Plummer (10 points) and Reggie Wayne (11) sliced
up the P.W.O.P. secondary. The Profiteer$ couldn't
keep up, as only Jason Elam scored more than 5
points while two receivers were shut out altogether.
The win moves Piana over .500 for the first time
all season, and, at 6-5, they're only a game back
of the Machines in the division race. The loss
is Pirk's eighth of the season, making the Profiteer$
ineligible for the playoffs and snapping their
streak of three straight Wild Card appearances.

Waste of Time dropped their fourth straight interdivisional
game of the season, losing to the Irwin Hellions
at The Vortex, 36-28. The C.W.O.T. attacked the
Hellions with a balanced attack that saw Antonio
Gates score 8 points, kicker Josh Scobee 7, and
Deuce McAllister 6. Even their longtime Dolphin
defense had their best game in two months, stripping
the visiting Hellions of 16 points.
Irwin, however, had an answer for every Jody
surge. Donovan McNabb and halfback Edgerrin James
each had stellar 14-point efforts, while Domanick
Davis and Chad Johnson scored 8 and 7 points,
respectively, to help put away the C.W.O.T.. The
Hellions have now won two straight and sit only
a game back in the West at 6-4. Jody, on the other
hand, has dropped a franchise record six straight
while losing their ninth game of the season, which
also sets a franchise mark.
