Thirteen losses
collide as the 3-6 Sims Stereco visit The Vortex
to tangle with the 2-7 Jody's Colossal Waste of
Time. The Stereco have dropped two straight games,
have yet to win any against a divisional opponent,
and must get hot fast if they're to make the playoffs
for the first time since 2002. Jody has arguably
fared worse, going from defending Eastern Division
Champion to possible Draft Bowl host in a single
season.
Sims will welcome Mike Vick and Onterrio Smith
back into the starting lineup following a bye
and suspension, respectively. The Eagle pair of
Terrell Owens and David Akers has been the biggest
scoring threat for the Stereco all season, and
they'll need to rebound from a season-low performance
last week if Sims is to finally get that first
division win. Jody is coming off a stinging 1-point
road loss against Pirk in which they were handcuffed
by the bye week, but Chris Brown and Josh Scobee
will be suited up for this one. The C.W.O.T. are
in the midst of the franchise's worst stretch
ever that has seen them lose seven of their last
eight games. One more loss would ban them from
the playoffs for the first time since 2001.

Machines hit the road to take on The Pimps in
the first of three interdivisional contests on
tap for Week 10. Unlike the other two games, however,
this matchup features a pair of 6-3 teams, with
one leading its division while the other sits
just a game back in the standings.
The Machines have surged to the front of the
Western Division behind the strong play of Tom
Brady, Curtis Martin, and their Ravens defense.
That triumvirate has been well supported by the
sure hands of Marvin Harrison, Darrell Jackson,
and Donald Driver, and as a result the Abstracts
have their best record after 9 weeks in franchise
history. The Pimps are no stranger to good win-loss
ratios, as their three Eastern Division titles
attest to. They have a shot at a fourth, but will
need to snap out of the 1-3 stretch that's bogging
them down. David Carr and Kris Brown need to rekindle
some of that early-season magic if they're to
fend off the Machines.

| Pirk's Wicked
Oil Profiteer$ take their two-game win streak
out on the road to visit the Anderson Brewmeisters
at Saint Arnold Stadium. Last year, the Brewmeisters
dropped a crucial Week 13 matchup with the Profiteer$
that ultimately sent Pirk into the playoffs and
Anderson to the Draft Bowl. The stakes may not
be quite as high for this year's Week 10 rematch,
but the Anderson faithful have been known to hold
a grudge.
Pirk scored its third victory of the season last
week and first over an opponent not named "Irwin".
Perhaps more impressively, they did it without
Ahman Green and Randy Moss. Green had scored 14
points in each of his last two starts before his
bye last week, and he's eager to get back in the
huddle. Moss, however, will miss his second straight
game with a hamstring injury. Anderson will be
without one of its biggest stars as well, as halfback
LaDainian Tomlinson finally takes his bye. Of
course Pirk will still have to deal with Peyton
Manning, who leads all position players with a
gaudy 14.9 points per game average. The Brewmeisters
have yet to win an interdivisional game this season,
however, and they can ill afford to have that
streak continue if they're to remain in the division
race.

| Thomas' Bock
Boys looks to make some personal history as they
head into Purgatory Field for a Western Division
clash with the Irwin Hellions. The Bock Boys have
never won at the Hellhole, and coming off a blowout
loss against Piana, they can't afford to suffer
the status quo if they're to remain players in
the Western race. Irwin is only a game behind
Thomas, but has dropped three straight divisional
contests and is sporting a losing record for the
first time since the end of the 2002 season.
The Bock Boys could be shorthanded at tailback
this week with Reuben Droughns out on bye and
Priest Holmes nursing a bum knee. More pressure
will be placed on Daunte Culpepper and Tony Gonzales
to move the ball and produce scoring opportunities
in a hostile environment. The Hellions aren't
without their own production woes. Both Donovan
McNabb and Andre Johnson are coming off their
worst weeks of the season, and the defense hasn't
posted a double-digit effort since Week 2. Regardless,
the Hellions will need to dig in and hold their
ground against Thomas if they're to avoid falling
to a dangerous mark of 4-6.

| The Naughty Figs
finally come home after 5 weeks on the road to
host the surging Piana Raze in the Week 10 Game
of the Week. When the Fig faithful last saw their
heroes up close, the team was 3-1. Now, five games
later, they're a league-best 7-2 and have all
but sewn up the franchise's first ever playoff
appearance.
The Figs are definitely rolling, but they'll
have to roll through the next few weeks without
Chad Pennington, who's been lost to injury. Joey
Harrington will take over from behind center,
and he'll likely do most of his work handing off
to Clinton Portis and Willis McGahee. McGahee
has been on fire over the last month, which included
consecutive 11-point outings leading up to this
week's game. Former Razer Santana Moss also had
a big game (11 points) last week against Sims
and would love to show up his former employer
while the Figs look to maintain their division
lead.
The Raze were almost left for playoff dead two
weeks ago. They were 2-5 with games against the
Machines and Thomas on tap. Instead of folding
their tent, the defending Western Division champs
won both contests by a combined 110-60 and are
now back in the playoff hunt. Runningbacks Tiki
Barber and Jamal Lewis are back to their game-breaking
ways, and the Raze's Steeler defense has been
terrorizing their opponents. With Jake Plummer
out on bye, Marc Bulger will get his second straight
start and be forced into heads-up action against
the Figs' Seahawks defense. Piana, needing to
win at least two of its final four games, has
yet to win an interdivisional game this season
(0-3).
