The surging Anderson
Brewmeisters visit the Sims Stereco in the league's
first divisional rematch of the season. Anderson
crushed Sims 54-11 three weeks ago in earning
their first of three straight victories. The Stereco
managed to rebound from that defeat to upset the
Irwin Hellions, but were sent back to the loss
column by Jody last week.
The Brewmeisters have been on fire in recent
weeks, posting the league's best performance twice
and second-best once. Their Patriots defense and
Peyton manning are the two biggest reasons, with
halfback superstar LaDainian Tomlinson a close
third. Anderson will have to go without Manning
this week, however, and will likely bring in a
journeyman QB to run the show. The Stereco will
be without two starters from a week ago (Toomer
and Fitzgerald), but will gladly welcome back
Terrell Owens from the bye and halfback Stephen
Davis from a month-long injury. In their last
meeting with Anderson, Sims' Rams defense and
Mike Vick each posted negative scores. Three weeks
later, the Rams "D" is long gone, but
Vick needs to flash some of that 2001 magic if
they're to keep up with the Brewmeisters.

| The 3-2 Abstract
Machines host the 2-3 Jody's C.W.O.T. in the only
interdivisional action of Week 6. Jody is probably
thankful to head out west following a 1-3 stretch
through their Eastern rivals, considering that
the C.W.O.T. have won an amazing 12 straight regular
season contests with teams from the Western Division.
Jody gets a huge boost this week as it welcomes
Deuce McAllister back into the backfield opposite
first-round pick Chris Brown. The C.W.O.T.'s second
first rounder, Javon Walker, has also been a stud,
averaging 8 points per game. And while Jody it
could be argued Jody had the best draft in '04,
the Abstract Machines would have a case as well.
Tom Brady, Curtis Martin, and Duce Staley were
all draftees and are among the highest scoring
offensive Machinists, even above Marvin Harrison.
The home team will need them to keep producing
this week, as harrison and the fearsome Ravens
"D" will be out on bye.

| The two current
bottom-dwellers of the league hook up this week
in a battle for inferiority as Pirk's Wicked Oil
Profiteer$ visit the Piana Raze. Both clubs only
have Week 3 wins on their resume to go with four
losses, putting the pair of 2003 playoff teams
against the ropes early.
Pirk's offense isn't quite as potent as it was
last year, but the Profiteer$ have still managed
to post 30+ points in each of their five games.
Kicker Jason Elam has been their biggest weapon,
averaging 9.4 points per game, while receivers
Randy Moss and Hines Ward are the only two offensive
players to average more than 6 ppg. Unfortunately
for Piana, aside from Marc Bulger, their three
most productive players – Jamal Lewis, Tiki
Barber, and Reggie Wayne – will all be sitting
this one out. A fifth loss in six games could
essentially kill any hopes the Raze have of defending
their divisional crown from a year ago.

| A great Western
Division rivalry is renewed as the Irwin Hellions
descend on Bockyard Stadium to meet up with the
defending Super Bowl champion Bock Boys. The Hellions
are tied with the Machines atop the division at
3-2, while the Bock Boys have started slowly out
of the gate, losing three of their last four.
Despite missing quarterback Donovan McNabb last
week, the Hellions still managed to post the league's
best effort thanks to the likes of Andre Johnson
and Edgerrin James. McNabb will make his return
to the huddle this week while James takes his
turn on the bench. Thomas, meanwhile, welcomes
back the Philly defense, Priest Holmes, and Anthony
Thomas back to active duty. The Hellions have
dominated this series for the most part, winning
7 of 9, but the two Thomas victories have come
here in Bockville.

Pimps 19, at FIGS 29 |
| |
| Following an
impressive 3-0 road trip, the 5-0 Pimps head home
to host the 3-2 Naughty Figs in the Game of the
Week. The Pimps are already two wins better than
anyone else in the league, which is no small feat
for a team that missed out on the playoffs a year
ago.
All told, The Pimps have won seven straight games
dating back to last season. New additions like
Warrick Dunn and Corey Dillon, the development
of David Carr, and the resurgence of Isaac Bruce
have all lead to The Pimps becoming the most surprising
team in 2004. One more victory will tie The Pimps'
own record of six consecutive victories to start
a season, but this contest with the Figs has added
meaning. For whatever reason, the Figs have always
played the Feathered Ones tough, owning a 5-3
series league as well as being the last team to
beat them, way back in Week 11 of last season.
To their credit, the Naughty Figs matched last
year's win total by simply going 3-0 to start
the 2004 campaign. However, on the heels of consecutive
losses, some Fig faithful are starting to worry
that a seemingly cursed franchise might fall out
of contention for a fifth straight season. All
of their transactions are spent, so the Purple
& White need to hope Chad Pennington, Clinton
Portis, and Joe Horn rebound to post the early-season
numbers that resulted in three wins. If they can't,
it may be another long game and potentially longer
season for the Naughty Ones.
