Week 3 Previews

Anderson Brewmeisters at Jody's C.W.O.T.
(1 - 2)   (1 - 2)
series history: Anderson leads 10-5
last meeting: Week 9, 2003
Jody 37, at ANDERSON 45

A great rivalry is renewed as Jody's Colossal Waste of Time hosts the Anderson Brewmeisters in the only Eastern Divisional matchup of Week 4. The defending division champion C.W.O.T. have been decimated with injuries and have dropped two straight, while the Brewmeisters finally broke into the win column with a 54-11 pounding of the Stereco last week.

Jody lost yet another player to injury last week (Lamar Gordon), but the C.W.O.T. have to be impressed by two of their early draft picks. Chris Brown and Javon Walker combined for a monstrous 27 points in the loss last week, and just might need to do it again if the C.W.O.T. are to avoid a third straight loss. Anderson showed last week that they know a thing or two about putting up points as well, and Peyton Manning and company would like nothing more than to make it three straight over the Pewter & Black.

victims of the bye week:
Anderson - RB Jones, REC Johnson
Jody - QB Hasselbeck

The Pimps at Piana Raze
(3 - 0)   (1 - 2)
series history: Pimps lead 5-4
last meeting: Week 10, 2003
PIANA 29, at Pimps 25

The undefeated Pimps continue their current three-game road trip with a visit to En Fuego Field to take on the Piana Raze. Despite losing to the Raze last year, The Pimps have still taken four of the last five in this interdivisional series.

At 3-0, The Pimps are off to their best start since 2000, but will have to take the field in Week 4 without one of their most productive players. Shaun Alexander, who has scored the most points for a running back over the season's first three weeks, will be out on bye. The Raze, meanwhile, will be at full strength and are looking to build on a great performance last week in Bockville. A win over The Pimps would erase the poor start to the season for the defending Western Division champs.

victims of the bye week:
Pimps - RB Alexander, RB Bennett, DEF Dallas
Piana - none

Sims Stereco at Irwin Hellions
(1 - 2)   (2 - 1)
series history: Sims leads 5-4
last meeting: Week 7, 2003
Sims 25, vs IRWIN 32

The Sims Stereco – crawling out from behind the woodshed after a 54-11 loss to Anderson – head into more dangerous territory to take on the Irwin Hellions. Already 0-2 away from home this season, Sims looks to reverse that trend at Purgatory Field and hand the Hellions a second straight defeat.

Of course to do that, Sims will have to somehow contain the Hellions Donovan McNabb, who leads all quarterbacks with a hefty 16.3 points per game. McNabb's Stereco counterpart, Mike Vick, is off to a much slower start since returning from last year's injury, averaging only 5.3 ppg. Sims' troubles don't stop there, however, as their Rams defense has posted rather embarrassing (-)1 point efforts in each of the last two weeks.

victims of the bye week:
Sims - RB Smith, REC Bryant
Irwin - RB George

Abstract Machines at P.W.O.P.
(1 - 2)   (1 - 2)
series history: P.W.O.P. leads 8-5-1
last meeting: Week 8, 2003
P.W.O.P. 32, at Machines 19

Pirk's Wicked Oil Profiteer$ take aim on a winning streak as they host the Abstract Machines in a Western Divisional contest. Pirk is coming off of a much-needed victory over the Hellions last week, while the Machines are heading back out on the road following a 38-20 home loss to the much-improved Naughty Figs.

The Machines welcome Tom Brady and Curtis Martin back into the huddle following their bye. The two 2004 draft picks have already given a considerable boost to the Machines' offense, and they'll certainly be needed this week in keeping up with the Profiteer$. Lucky for Machines, however, P.W.O.P. will have to go without one of its best weapons, as Randy Moss will be out on bye.

victims of the bye week:
Machines - REC Glenn, REC Jackson, K Andersen
P.W.O.P. - REC Moss

Game of the Week
Thomas' Bock Boys at Naughty Figs
(1 - 2)   (3 - 0)
series history: Thomas leads 3-1
last meeting: Week 6, 2003
Figs 14, at THOMAS 37

Although they should no longer be labeled as "expansion teams", Thomas' Bock Boys and the Naughty Figs will forever be linked as the only two franchises to be added to the FLF. Yet, historically, that is about all that is shared between the two.

Thomas' Bock Boys are 4-for-4 in making the playoffs, have won one division championship, and are the reigning Super Bowl Champions. The Naughty Figs, in sharp contrast, have never made the playoffs, have finished dead last in the East three times in four years, and have played in two Draft Bowls. But how things can change...

Three weeks into the new season, the Figs are undefeated at 3-0 while the defending Super Bowl champs have dropped two straight in falling to 1-2. Thomas has never lost three straight games in a season, and will have to try and dodge that bullet without the services of Daunte Culpepper, the league's second-most productive quarterback. His absence, however significant, may pale in comparison to the Figs, who are losing four of last week's starters to the bye week.

victims of the bye week:
Thomas - QB Culpepper
Figs - QB Harrington, REC Robinson, REC Williams, K Brown, DEF Seattle
