| Anderson completed
its first season sweep over Jody since 1998 as
the Brewmeisters shot past the Colossal Waste
of Time, 45-37, at Saint Arnold Stadium.
Despite not getting a single point of support
from its Vikings defense for the second week in
a row, Anderson downed the C.W.O.T. behind a remarkable
display of offense. Each of the seven offensive
starters scored at least six points, and Torry
Holt and Mike Vanderjagt nearly doubled that at
13 and 12 points, respectively. The C.W.O.T. tried
to counter with 8 from receiver Steve Smith and
an additional 7 from both Deuce McAllister and
tight end Todd Heap. Jody's Miami defense, which
came up so big in last week's win over Irwin,
managed to strip 13 points form the home team,
but it just wasn't enough to prevent the C.W.O.T.'s
first loss in four weeks.
Both clubs now sit at 5-4, tied atop the Eastern
Division. Anderson, however, holds a decisive
2-0 head-to-head tiebreak over Jody, not to mention
a league-best divisional record of 5-1. The C.W.O.T.,
by contrast, have now dropped three straight divisional
games.

| It took a Monday
Night rally, but the Sims Stereco finally snapped
their four-game losing streak by besting a short-handed
P.W.O.P. team, 48-45, in Oil Town, USA.
Playing without a quarterback OR defense, Pirk
still managed to build a five point lead after
Sunday, thanks largely to Ahman Green's 13 points
and kicker Aaron Elling's 10. The visiting Stereco
only managed a single point from rookie QB Byron
Leftwich, but got a much-needed 14 from its backfield
of Stephen Davis and Ricky Williams and an additional
11 from kicker David Akers. Yet it wasn't until
Monday Night that their Bronco defense returned
a punt for a TD and forced a safety to finally
put down the under-manned Profiteer$.
With the win, Sims improves to 3-6, the same mark
they were a year ago before winning seven straight
en route to the league title. Pirk meanwhile drops
to 6-3 but retains co-leadership of the Western
Division race.

The Abstract Machines
held off the Piana Raze for a 28-26 victory at
En Fuego Field, earning an important split in
the season series. Down six heading into Monday
Night, Piana placekicker Jason Elam scored four
points before having to leave the game with a
strained groin, preserving the victory for the
Machines.
With quarterback Trent Green out on bye, the
Machines had to go with Drew Brees, who in turn
coughed up a point against the Raze. Troy Hambrick
and Darrell Jackson each scored 7 to make up for
Brees' ineptness, but the game ball should go
to the defense and special teams. The Machines'
Ravens squad stripped 17 points from Piana, and
interim placekicker Ryan Longwell had 12 huge
points on Sunday Night. The Raze made a game of
it mostly thanks to Santana Moss, who riddled
his former team for a game-high 16 points.
The win is only the second for the Machines in
their last six games, but it moves them up to
4-5, only two games off the lead in the West.
Piana drops its second game in three weeks, but
remains tied with P.W.O.P. atop the West at 6-3.

Boys made it two straight in the friendly confines
of Bockyard Stadium with a 24-15 victory over
The Pimps. In a battle of struggling defending
division champions, Daunte Culpepper answered
the call in leading his team to victory.
Culpepper had his best game of the season, torching
the visitors for 14 points on Sunday Night. Michael
Pittman and Keenan McCardell chipped in 6 and
7 points, respectively, but three other Bock Boy
starters managed only a single point apiece. Offensively,
The Pimps couldn't capitalize however, as Shaun
Alexander was the only player to score more than
five points, finishing with six. Defensively,
Thomas' Eagles team clawed out a 13-12 advantage
over The Pimps' Cowboys unit to preserve the win.
The victory is Thomas' fourth in five games and
moves them to within a game of the Western division
leaders. The Pimps drop to 4-5 but remain only
a game out of first in the East. The five losses
are already more than any Pimp team suffered since
2000.

| The Irwin Hellions
bounced back into the win column with a 47-32
victory over the defenseless Naughty Figs. Donovan
McNabb posted his best outing of the season for
the Hellions (10 points) as the visitors won for
the fourth time in four career meetings with the
Purple and White. Edgerrin James had 8 points
on the ground and Chris Chambers led all receivers
with 6. The Figs' Matt Hasselbeck had 7 in the
loss, and Clinton Portis chipped in 10 during
mop-up duty on Monday Night.
The win is particularly significant for Irwin,
who, at 5-4, have now surpassed last year's win
total (4). Moreover, this marks the first time
since Week 5, 2001 that Irwin has scored 40 or
more points, ending a drought of 32 games. The
Figs, meanwhile, fall to 2-7 with the loss on
the the verge of playoff ineligibility for the
fourth year in a row.
