| The Piana Raze
rebounded from a Neutral Site loss to the hapless
Figs by clipping the visiting Bock Boys at En
Fuego Field, 33-31, to snap Thomas' three game
winning streak. Piana built an early and seemingly
insurmountable 26-point lead on Thomas, but the
visitors surged back on Sunday and Monday night
before falling just short to the Raze and Home
Field Advantage.
While Raze quarterback Brad Johnson was held to
a modest 6 points, Tiki Barber and Jamal Lewis
combined for 20 from the backfield to help build
the lead. Further help came from Piana's Panther
defense, which had its best game in a month while
doubling up its former teammate -- Thomas' Eagles
squad -- 16-8. The Bock Boys got 9 apiece from
both Daunte Culpepper and Jeff Wilkins, but still
found themselves in a big hole heading into Sunday
night. Priest Holmes and Tony Gonzales combined
for 20 points to bring them to within 6, but David
Boston managed only 4 more on Monday Night, coming
up just short.
The win is Piana's fifth in six games and fourth
within the division. More importantly, the Raze,
now 6-2 and two games better than Thomas, own
a season sweep over the defending division champs.

Waste of Time and the Irwin Hellions went a full
twelve rounds at Purgatory Field, and the visiting
C.W.O.T. emerged from the grueling defensive struggle
with a dramatic, come-from-behind 20-16 victory.
Jody started quick, as quarterback Marc Bulger
and placekicker Martin Gramatica tagged Irwin
with 11 points apiece. The Hellions countered
with 10 from rookie halfback Domanick Davis and
13 from the efforts of receivers Jimmy Smith and
Chad Johnson. Then the home team struck a real
blow on defense, when its Buccaneer squad stripped
the C.W.O.T. of 22 points to leave them 21 points
back. Undeterred, Jody sent their Dolphin defense
into battle Monday Night, and they stole back
the victory with a stunning 25-point barrage.
The win is Jody's fourth against a Western Division
opponent this season and extends their record
to 5-3. Irwin takes a step back with the loss,
dropping to 4-4 and two games back of the divisional
lead.

Much like the
Raze this week, The Pimps weathered a Monday Night
rally before using Home Field Advantage to secure
a Week 8 win. The defending Eastern Division Champs
implored this method to put down the sliding Sims
Stereco, 28-26, and sweep the season series from
the defending world champions.
While points were few and fear between for both
clubs, the Stereco's Stephen Davis did his part
and then some, scoring a game-high 16 points for
the visitors. The problem was, the other six offensive
and special teams starters combined for only 16
more. The Pimps didn't fare much better, but Stephen
Alexander (10) and kicker John Kasay (11) both
managed to break double-digits. The Stereco had
a shot, down by only four heading into Monday
Night, but Ricky Williams coughed up the football
in a crucial second half fumble that cut his point
total from 4 to 2 and gave the victory to The
Pimps.
The win avenges The Pimps' Championship Week loss
to the Stereco on the same field last season and
improves their record to 4-4. Sims, meanwhile,
continues its rapid fall from grace with its fourth
consecutive loss.

| The Anderson
Brewmeisters completed the franchise's first ever
season sweep of the Naughty Figs in impressive
fashion, routing the Figs on the road, 64-33.
Combining this decision with the 75-15 score from
Week 4, the Brewmeisters outscored their Eastern
Division rivals by a combined 91 points this season
(139-48).
In what could be a league first, neither defense
scored a single point. Anderson's new Vikings
squad and the Figs' Bills unit both posted bagels,
leaving the game's outcome squarely in the hands
of the offense. And against the Brewmeisters,
the Figs simply couldn't keep up. Peyton Manning
(14), LaDainian Tomlinson (10), Torry Holt (12),
Ike Hilliard (11), and Mike Vanderjagt (12) all
scored in double digits for the visitors, while
only Matt Hasselbeck (11) and Joe Horn (10) matched
that feat for the Figs. The other five offensive
starters combined for only 10 additional points,
sending the Figs to their sixth loss of the season.
Anderson improves to 4-4 on the year and sits
one game behind Jody in the divisional race.

P.W.O.P. quarterback Steve McNair was out-dueled
up by the Machines' Trent Green 11-5, but his
targets fared much better on the day. Receivers
Hines Ward, Randy Moss, and Peter Warrick combined
for 29 points, or 22 more than the Machine's tandem
of Marvin Harrison, Darrell Jackson, and Anquan
Boldin. The home team did manage a 15-12 victory
on defense, but it wasn't enough to slow down
the formidable Profiteer offense. P.W.O.P. moves
to 6-2 with the win and remains tied with the
Raze atop the Western Division. The slipping Machines
fall three games back to 3-5.
