Brewmeisters overcame a 22-point deficit on Monday
Night to flatten The Pimps, 37-18, in the Game
of the Week. Brewmeister receiver Torry Holt caught
two scores and tallied 14 points to cut into The
Pimps lead, but it was Anderson's new Rams defense
and their 27 points that ultimately buried the
home team.
The Pimps built their lead the old fashioned way
-- through special teams and defense. Placekicker
John Kasay scored 12 points, and the Cowboy D
posted another 15. On offense, Rod Smith brought
in a team-high 8 points, and halfback Shaun Alexander
scored 6 more on the ground. Anderson stayed alive
on Sunday thanks to 7 apiece from Peyton Manning
and Keyshawn Johnson. The backfield suffered without
LaDainian Tomlinson, as Amos Zeroue and Charlie
Garner combined for only 5 points, leaving the
visitors in sizeable hole. Yet the game's momentum
swung hard and fast on Monday, as Holt and the
Rams combined for a game-breaking 41 points to
steal the win away from the home team.
With the victory, the 3-3 Brewmeisters move up
into a first place tie atop the Eastern Division.
And like the co-leading Pimps, they sport an impressive
3-1 divisional record. Despite maintaining a share
of the lead, The Pimps continue to struggle, having
now lost three of their last four games.

| Anderson wasn't
the only team staging a come-from-behind victory
on Monday Night. Jody's Colossal Waste of Time
got a huge boost from stand-in quarterback Marc
Bulger, and the C.W.O.T. rallied to defeat Pirk's
Wicked Oil Profiteer$ at the Vortex, 34-27.
P.W.O.P. enjoyed huge games from Steve McNair
and Ahman Green, who torched C.W.O.T. defenders
for 15 and 14 points, respectively. Jody's Sunday
high scorer, by contrast, was Deuce McAllister
with 7. Anthony Thomas and kicker Martin Gramatica
chipped in 5 more apiece, but Jody's rally came
from the other side of the ball. The C.W.O.T.'s
Dolphin defense answer the P.W.O.P. challenge
with their best game of the season, a 26-point
barrage that brought Jody to within 5 points of
Pirk heading into Monday Night. Under the prime
time lights, newly-signed QB Marc Bulger dazzled
the tiring Profiteer defense for 12 points and
the victory.
Jody climbs back up to 3-3 with the win, their
eighth straight against a Western Division opponent.
The loss, meanwhile, is only the second of the
season for the Profiteer$, but drops them out
of first place nonetheless.

In a grueling
game that will likely jump-start a fading rivalry,
the Piana Raze used Brad Johnson's arm and En
Fuego Field's home field advantage to clip the
visiting Irwin Hellions, 21-20.
The Hellions continued their recent offensive struggles this week, posting
only 28 offensive points against the Raze. Brett
Favre had a very respectable 9 points, but the
other 5 offensive starters combined for only 9
more. Irwin managed to get 6 points from its placekicker
and another 3 off a defensive score by its Buccaneer
defense, who in turn hammered Piana for 22 points-against.
The Raze mustered only 8 points from its Panther
defense, but got a combined 15 from William Green
and Jamal Lewis and a game-high 17 from quarterback
Brad Johnson to pull close. Then, trailing with
just seconds left, Jason Elam connected on a 47-yard
field goal to propel the Raze to the narrow victory.
The win is Piana's third straight over the Hellions
and fourth in a row overall. At 5-1, they now
sit in sole possession of first in the West. Irwin,
meanwhile, has dropped two straight divisional
contests and falls back to 3-3.

Machines delivered yet another blow to the Sims
Stereco's world title defense, crushing the champs
in front of their home crowd, 35-10.
Machines' quarterback Trent Green finally went
off this week, passing for a team-high 17 points
in leading the rout. While no other offensive
starter scored more than 6, placekicker Morton
Andersen posted 12 and the Raven defense nearly
doubled that number with 19. The Stereco, by contrast,
struggled from the beginning. Halfbacks Ricky
Williams and Stephen Davis almost clocked in identical
performances (75 yds, 1 TD, t FL) that amounted
to 5 points apiece. Drew Bledsoe, courageously
filling in for Mike Vick, was held to zero points
on the day. The lone bright spot for Sims came
on defense, where its new Bronco squad stripped
21 points away from the visiting Machines to almost
cut the margin of victory in half.
The Mechanical Ones snap a two-game losing streak
with the win and, at 3-3, remain only two games
back of the division-leading Raze.The 2-4 Stereco
have now dropped two straight for the first time
since Week 9 of last year but remain only a game
off the pace in the East.

Boys finally gave the Bockyard faithful something
to cheer about, besting the Naughty Figs, 37-14,
for their first home win of the season. Priest
Holmes returned to double-digits with a team-high
10 point effort, and placekicker Jeff Wilkins
returned from his bye with 10 of his own. Tony
Gonzales also had a big day, scoring his best
mark of the season at 9 points.
The Figs must have spent all they had in last
week's upset over Sims, as points were few and
far between this week. QB Matt Hasselbeck led
the team with 6, but only one other starter (Joe
Horn with 5) scored more than 3 points in support.
The Figs fall to 1-4 with the loss, meaning they
must win 5 of their final seven games to qualify
for the playoffs. Thomas, meanwhile, has now won
three of four and is back to .500 for the first
time since the preseason.
