| With their backs
to the wall after an 0-2 start, the defending
Western Division Champion Bock Boys answered the
bell in Round 3 without authority, dropping the
high-octane Profiteer$, 33-10, in the Week 3 Game
of the Week.
Thomas' offense was once again lead by the unstoppable
Priest Holmes, who tagged P.W.O.P. for a game-high
13 points. Kicker Jeff Wilkins was second on the
team with 11, and quarterback Daunte Culpepper
scored 9 more before leaving the game with a back
injury. P.W.O.P., meanwhile, seemed to lose some
of its magic from the first two weeks. Ahman Green
was held to a pedestrian 3 points and Travis Henry
actually cost his team 2 points by throwing an
interception before leaving with an injury of
his own. Hines Ward emerged as the team's leading
scorer with only 5. The Profiteer$ did manage
to salvage a small victory on the defensive side
of the ball, where their Titan squad held back
the Bock Boys new Seahawk unit 17-12, but the
game ultimately belonged to the visitors.
The win is Thomas' first since their Week 13
defeat of P.W.O.P. -- in Oil Town, nonetheless
-- from last season. As a result, the defending
division champs improve to 1-2. And after combining
for more than 90 points in their first two weeks,
the Profiteer$ are held to 10 and fall from the
dwindling ranks of the unbeaten.

| As an encore
to last week's gritty win over the Hellions at
Purgatory Field, the Abstract Machines returned
home and scored a hard-fought 23-13 victory over
The East-leading Pimps.
The game was ugly and physical, and points were
hard to come by. Pimp receiver Isaac Bruce led
all scorers with 7 points and was backed by 6
more from quarterback Tommy Maddox. The Machines
were lead by by receiver Darrell Jackson and kicker
Morten Anderson, who scored 6 apiece. After combining
for 15 points a week ago, Marshall Faulk and Corey
Dillon were held to 3 before both backs were forced
from the game with injury. The Pimps' Rod Smith
also made a quick exit via ejection after punching
the Ref during a confrontation. The Machines pulled
away on defense, where their Ravens squad outperformed
The Pimps' Packers unit 9-2 to secure the win.
The loss is the first of the season for The Pimps
and only their second to the Machine franchise
in seven years. The victory is the second straight
for the Machines, who move to 2-1 and into a share
of the Western lead.

The Irwin Hellions
put a stop to their home losing streak in grand
fashion, nearly shutting out the Anderson Brewmeisters
en route to an impressive 21-2 victory.
Defense was front and center for this interdivisional
contest. Anderson's Steeler team had its best
outing of the season, stripping 16 away from the
Hellions. That effort, however, paled in comparison
to Irwin's Buccaneer team, who ambushed the visitors
for an astounding 26 points. Brewmeisters LaDainian
Tomlinson (11 points) and Peyton Manning (8) did
their best to help avoid the franchise's first
shutout. From the other sideline, the Hellions'
young receivers continued to impress, with second-round
pick Andre Johnson leading the way with a career-high
11 point effort. Yet this win -- much like their
first in the season's opening week -- should be
credited to the Hellions' amazing defense.
The loss is the second straight for the Brewskies,
who drop to 1-2 on the year. Adding insult to
injury, the 2 points scored is the lowest total
in Anderson franchise history. The Hellions, meanwhile,
rebound from their Week 2 setback against the
Machines to improve to 2-1.

| Lookout FLF --
the Piana Raze are hot, or at least by team standards.
The rebuilding Raze burned the defending Super
Bowl Champion Sims Stereco at En Fuego Field,
42-21, to earn their second win of the season.
Last year, it took Piana a full 13 weeks to score
Victory No. 2 in a very forgettable campaign.
The Raze apparently are also ready to forget Kurt
Warner, cutting the injured former star and signing
Brad Johnson to start behind center. Johnson,
the third different starting QB in as many weeks,
was impressive in his Raze debut, scoring a much-needed
10 points. Jamal Lewis, a week removed from a
monster 22-point effort, rumbled through the middle
of the Stereco defense for an additional 10, and
second-round pick Ashlie Lelie brought down 9
more in the rout. Stereco quarterback Drew Bledsoe
had a horrible day, coughing up a pair of points
to the Piana "D". Ricky Williams and
Amani Toomer combined for 16 points, but it wasn't
near enough to avoid the blowout
The loss drops the Stereco to 1-2, while the
win bumps the now 2-1 Raze into a four-way tie
atop the Western Division.

Waste of Time went old school on the Naughty Figs
this week, using a suffocating Dolphin defense
to hand the struggling Figs their third straight
loss to open the season.
After posting a disappointing two-week total
of 1 point to start the year, Jody's Dolphin squad
took out their frustration on the Figs, stripping
a game-breaking 25 points from the home team.
The Figs' Bills defense, by contrast, had a very
respectable 14-point effort in the loss. Matt
Hasselbeck, starting in place of a benched Rich
Gannon, scored a team-high 10 points for the Figs,
and receiver Koren Robinson put up an additional
8. Jody countered with 8 apiece from Aaron Brooks
and Eddie George to keep pace, yet it was the
Dolphin defense that provided the knockout blow.
The win is the second straight for the Colossal
Waste of Time and first within their division.
The stumbling Figs drop to a league worst 0-3
with the loss.
