Pirk's Wicked Oil Profiteer$ downed the visiting Abstract
Machines, 47-25, to win the season series 1-0-1 and
remain undefeated in divisional play. Jeff Garcia led
the offensive assault for the home team, torching the
Machines' secondary for 18 points. Randy Moss, who had
been largely absent from the scoreboard most of the
season, brought in 9 points, and Travis Henry ran for
an additional 8 as the only featured Profiteer back.
The Machines, also running a run-and-shoot offense,
had only two players score more than 5 points - Corey
Dillon with 10 and kicker Morton Anderson with 9. The
four receivers combined for only eight points, or one
shy of Moss' total alone. The Machines' Bronco defense
nearly doubled up P.W.O.P.'s Saints squad, but it was
a Pyrrhic victory for the Mechanical ones, who drop
to 2-4-2 on the season. P.W.O.P., meanwhile, have now
won three of their last four and improve to 4-3-1.

| The Pimps |

In what has to be considered the biggest choke of the
season, the Sims Stereco fell to The Pimps after failing
to take advantage of a late game (Monday night) opportunity.
Down only 20 points, the Stereco had five of their eight
starters set to go unopposed on Monday Night. Their
other three starters - Drew Bledsoe, Stephen Davis,
and Terrell Owens - combined for 26 points on Sunday,
but three receivers, a kicker, and a defense could only
muster an additional 11 come prime time. The Pimps didn't
have their best game, but Shaun Alexander's 11 points
and Peerless Price's 8 helped pace an effort that turned
out to be good enough. It was not a pretty game, particularly
with the two defenses combining for only 5 points, but
this one will be remembered mostly for the comeback
that never was. The disheartening loss drops the Stereco
to an equaling disappointing 3-5, while the win keeps
The Pimps undefeated and atop the league at 7-0-1. At
least Sims won't have too much time to dwell on it;
these two meet again in only two weeks.

Jody's Colossal Waste of Time roughed up the Anderson
Brewmeisters, 47-25, to avenge their own lopsided defeat
at the hands of the Brewmeisters earlier this season.
Deuce McAllister had his way with the Anderson defense,
scoring a game-high 16 points and helping set up teammate
Martin Gramatica's 15. Fresh off the waiver wire, Plaxico
Burress marked his return to the C.W.O.T. with 9 big
points. Brewmeister Peyton Manning held his own in the
loss, beating out Jody's Aaron Brooks, 9-8. Anderson's
Steeler defense even out muscled Jody's Browns team,
16-14, but that couldn't compensate for the deficit
on offense. Jody improves to 6-2 with the win, their
best record after eight games since starting 7-1 in
1999. The Brewmeisters fall back below .500 to 3-4-1
with the loss.

For the second time this season, Priest Holmes had
his way with the Piana Raze, leading the hometown Bock
Boys to yet another win over the hapless visitors. Holmes
had a game-high 13 points for the Bock Boys, who also
benefited from Daunte Culpepper and Antowain Smith's
7 apiece. Piana countered with a season-high 9 points
from Tiki Barber and an additional 7 from Marty Booker,
but was hampered by Antwaan Randle El and Mike Vanderjagt,
who each mustered a single point. The silver lining
for Piana is that their Cowboy defense outplayed Thomas'
Eagles team 10-4, but that couldn't prevent yet another
loss. At 0-7-1, Piana has fallen out of playoff eligibility
in record time. While on the other end of the division
standings, Thomas improves to 6-2 and maintains its
one-and-a-half game lead over the surging P.W.O.P..

The Irwin Hellions love playing at home and love playing
the Naughty Figs, and when one combines the two it can
get ugly pretty quick. Donovan McNabb led the Hellion
offense with an electrifying 12 Monday Night points,
but this game - like so many others - was won for Irwin
on defense. The unrelenting attack of Irwin's Bucs defense
stripped an insurmountable 25 points from the Figs'
offense while besting the Figs' Bears defense by 23
points. Despite that, the Figs got an encouraging performance
from their backfield, where Kevan Barlow and Clinton
Portis combined for an impressive 23 points. In the
end, though, it still goes down as the sixth loss of
the season for the Figs, who's playoff chances seem
slim at best. Irwin recovers from its two-game skid
to even its record at 4-4 and stay two games back of
the Bock Boys in the West.
