2002 Draft News
Thursday, August 8, 2002
2002 salaries and rosters are being released today. You can view
updated rosters for every team using the links in the left menu.
Every player has been awarded a salary with the exception of Tom
Brady and Anthony Wright, who slipped through the cracks but will
be awarded their salaries by Saturday.
Like last year, 2002 salaries are based on point-performance (within
our league's scoring system) for the past three years of every player
except defense. Last season is weighted 50%, while 2000 and 1999
are each 25%. Defenses are scored solely on last year's performance.
The most expensive player this year (excluding defenses) is Marshall
Faulk at 145. All in all, There are 18 position players over the
100 mark – 9 QB, 3 RB, 0 REC, and 6 K. The basement price
for position players is 40. Players who have missed considerably
time due to injury will have much cheaper price tags as the weeks
they missed translated into 0 production.
The current team salaries in order of most to least expensive are:
Anderson 1102
Machines 1081
N. Figs 1046
Sims 1046
Irwin 989
Pimps 968 (+ Anthony Wright)
Jody 958
P.W.O.P. 954
Thomas 919
Piana 859 (+ Tom Brady)
Pre-Draft Salary Cap: 800
You can cut or trade without penalty, but everyone MUST be at or
under this cap by FRIDAY, AUGUST 16th.
The Draft will likely begin Monday, August 19th, and it will last
five rounds.
Season Salary Cap: 1000
You MUST be at or under this amount by midnight Wednesday, September
4th (the day before the first game).
There you have it; free agent lists will be composed and posted
in the coming weeks. Please email concerns or questions about the
new cap structure. If you think it's unfair and that Mark rigged
it to benefit his team, please notice how the Brew Crew –amazingly–
has the highest payroll and will have to shed 300 points.
