For the second straight week, the Naughty
Figs frustrated and conquered an eastern division rival. Having
defeated The Pimps in Week 1, the Figs stepped up their game in
Week 2 to down Jody's Colossal Waste of Time with authority, 38-10.
Jamal Anderson (11 points) and kicker Ryan Longwell (13 points)
posted impressive numbers as the Figs doubled up Jody's offensive
points, 42-21. Their Raven defense out-muscled Jody's Dolphins squad
11-6 to ensure the rout. The C.W.O.T.'s Kerry Collins, who had posted
14 points in Week 1, was victimized for minus(-)1 point this week
against the Figs. Moreover, the only Jody player to score over 5
points was kicker John Kasay (10 points), who was subbing for the
resting Martin Gramatica.
The win moves the undefeated Naughty Figs into sole possession of
first place in the East, a franchise first, while Jody drops to
1-1.

| THOMAS' BOCK BOYS |

Home Field Advantage claims its first victim
of the 2001 season as Thomas' Bock Boys rebound from their Week
1 beating to stun the Abstract Machines 22-21 at BockYard Stadium.
Marshall Faulk and Marvin Harrison - not surprisingly - led the
Machines' 45-point offensive assault with 9 and 16 points, respectively.
Thomas could counter with only 28 offensive points, despite solid
performances from Daunte Culpepper (8 points) and David Boston (7
points). Yet in the face of an 0-2 start, the Bock Boys' Eagles
defense dramatically willed its team towards victory, besting the
Machines' Rams unit 24-8 to draw to within a point. The rowdy hometown
crowd did the rest in securing Thomas' first win of 2001. The narrow
loss drops the Abstract Machines to 1-1.

| THE PIMPS |

The Pimps, coming off one
of the team's worst performances in more than a year, put together
the league's best in Week 2 to capture a decisive victory over the
Anderson Brewmeisters. Pimps quarterback Rob Johnson had a solid
outing with 9 points, or 14 points better than Jeff George in the
previous week, and receivers Rod Smith (14) and Peerless Price (7)
combined for an additional 21 points. The Brewmeister offense, by
contrast, was essentially Peyton Manning, who had a banner day with
20 points. Unfortunately for them, the other six offensive starters
could only muster 12 additional points. Perhaps the biggest single
factor of the game, however, was The Pimps' Packer defense, which
put on a clinic Monday Night, stripping 26 points away from Anderson.
The Pimps move to 1-1 with the win while Anderson drops to a surprising
0-2.

The Irwin Hellions continued their mastery
of the P.W.O.P. franchise, posting their fifth consecutive victory
over the Profiteer$, 41-32. Brett Favre, making his first start
since Super Bowl IV, led the Hellion offense with 12 points while
Edgerrin James and Curtis Martin combined for twenty points for
the second consecutive game. The big numbers were needed, especially
considering the Hellions didn't field a kicker. Olindo Mare was
cut to make room for the Colts defense, which held its own against
P.W.O.P.'s Raiders team, 10-10. Even with the extra man, P.W.O.P.
couldn't match firepower with the Hellions. Jeff Garcia (8 points)
and Ahman Green (8) gave strong efforts in the loss, while Randy
Moss (4 points) continued to struggle for the Profiteer$. The win
lifts Irwin to 2-0, while the loss, the tenth in their last eleven
overall games, drops P.W.O.P. to 0-2.

Brian Griese and the Piana
Raze blew past the Sims Stereco 43-23 in the Stereco's home opener.
Griese led the Raze while outdueling Sims' Kurt Warner 14-11. In
another battle, Jason Elam, Piana's placekicker, clipped his Stereco
counterpart (David Akers) 13-10. The rest of Sims' offense struggled
mightily without Ricky Williams and Albert Connell. Reminiscent
of last year, Rocket Ismail had a strong 7-point outing for the
Stereco, but left with an injury and is expected to miss time. Piana
sealed the game with an impressive defensive showing, as its Charger
unit beat out Sims' Giant squad 18-7. With the win, Piana starts
the season 2-0 for the first time since '98, while the loss is the
seventh straight, dating back to last season, for the Stereco.
